Lahari is the NYC based food illustrator and artist behind Lahari Art. She has loved art for as long as she can remember, alongside an equally strong love for food. Some of her fondest memories with family and friends have been centered around the table, sharing a good meal and even better stories. Outside of her work, Lahari loves cooking, all things miniature, jasmine scented, and striped. She is happiest when she is eating something delicious or making something with her hands.

Food, memories, and the people she shares them with are at the heart of Lahari’s work. She is fascinated by what, how, and why we eat, and especially by the way food can connect us to a particular person, place, culture, or moment in time. She also finds inspiration in the smallest visual details, from a glossy sauce and a beautiful lace table setting to the different textures of a whole fried fish. These are the details that make her want to pick up a paintbrush or pen and start creating.

Lahari approaches her work with the goal of capturing food in a way that feels realistic while still maintaining a sense of playfulness. She works with vibrant color, rich texture, and a variety of mediums including digital illustration, gouache, watercolor, acrylic paint, and clay. Her background in detailed, realistic painting has given her a deep appreciation for craft, while her curiosity keeps her experimenting with new materials, styles, and techniques.
